OMCC January 2015 Periodic Part 2
Hi again! As promised, I said that I would follow up my last periodic
with an update when I had more info.
Forthcoming events:
Vines (BMW Guildford) Open Evening. 21st Jan. Cost: Free. More
details on the Forum.
ExCEL show. 13th Feb. There's transport from RAF Odiham (and return);
0730 depart; Cost: £10 to members. More details on the forum.
Bemsee Marshalling Course. 21st Feb; Brands Hatch; Transport from RAF
Odiham (and return); 0700 depart. Cost: FREE. A well-worthwhile course
to do. It's a full day, but you will end up a fully qualified race
marshal. More details on the forum.
Cadwell Park 2-day track day. 17th and 18th June. Cost: £165 which
includes free camping on the nights of the 16th and 17th Jun, 14 track
sessions, free instruction (available). The Clubhouse will be available
on the evening of the 17th for food/drink (at your own cost). BOOKING
IS OPEN ON THE WEBSITE.
We have made an important change to the booking procedure. You need to
update your Profile on the Forum as when you book in for Cadwell/an
Airfield Riding Day, you no longer get to choose your group. Your OMCC
Forum profile should include information that will enable the event
administrators to allocate you to an appropriate group. The benefits of
the new system are that it will enable us to reduce the number of people
in the wrong group (mainly Experienced riders who wait so long to book
that the only places left are in the Novice group) and better reallocate
available places from Cancellations. To that end, once the list fills
up, a reserve list will be set up. Remember to check the T&Cs before
booking, but don't delay, as the list is already half-full.
Offroad. Still some work to do for the Ofroad, so nothing definitive to
tell you yet about this year's calendar.
My next periodic will hopefully be soon, with (hopefully) confirmed
dates for the ARDs and an Offroad programme.
Cheers, Ride Safe!

OMCC January 2015 Periodic
OMCC Jan 15 Periodic
Well firstly, a Happy New Year to you all. Hopefully the festive season
was kind to you all and you are planning your biking year to be better
than ever.
The first bit of news is a reminder for you all to renew your membership
(Subs due from the 1st Jan). When you do, you'll notice a snazzy
updated website (OMCC are not immune from the latest trends, thank you
to the WebMaster).
We are busy trying to finalise the 2015 calendar. However, some of the
disciplines have been proving frustrating to sort.
Firstly, Offroad. Despite the best efforts of Tony and Bob, Landmarc
have given us the complete run-around. To that end, I will be pressing
them next Monday to provide us with a coherent list. However, in the
meantime, we have had to conclude that running an Offroad event in
January would not be possible, so we have had to cancel it. This is
especially disappointing noting the runaway success of the December
event. Rest assured that we will do our utmost to ensure that the
February event will be better than ever…
Next Cadwell Park. Better news; the dates of 17th and 18th June are
booked. However, MSV will not be formalising their prices until the 5th
Jan (next Monday). To that end, once we have sorted all of the
requisite details, the event will be launched on the Website (remember
you have to be a member to book up….).
Finally, the Airfield Riding Days. The RAF Odiham Airfield Manager has
yet to finalise the 2015 airfield usage calendar; however, the meeting
to sort this is due in the next few weeks. As soon as the dates (3
ARDs) are sorted, we'll let you know.
My next periodic should follow within a week or so, when I will give you
more details of some/all of the events, coupled with significant changes
to the way places for Cadwell Park and the ARDs will be booked.
Another date for your diary is the Christmas function, on Saturday the
24th Jan; full details on the forum.
The first meeting of the year will be next Wednesday, the 7th Jan. See
you there.
Remember that there will not be an Offroad event in January.

OMCC Dec 2014 Periodic
Dear Member,
Greetings for the last periodic of the year. Just to keep you in the loop here is the latest info from the OMCC Committee.
There will be some changes for 2015 to Membership packs. Basically the change is that there won’t be any! If and when you sign up for membership (please don’t do it before the 1st Jan), you’ll get an email confirming success. If you want some OMCC stickers (see the bit below about the Club competition), they’ll be available at Club meets and events. If you really want stuff posted to you, let the Membership Sec know.
The Committee has regrettably had to take the decision to raise prices for 2015, by (on average) £5 per event. This could be due to (a) higher running costs or (b) Tony needing to renew his Triumph Rocket III. Sorry, but we don’t do this very often. Hopefully, you’ll still feel that you’re getting value for money.
Congratulations to Darryl Hodder; Blenheim Palace Clock Tower now sports its very own OMCC sticker as a result of which Darryl will receive a prize which includes free membership and free entry to all OMCC events for the year. Keep an eye out for this competition being run again in 2015, as (I’m sure Darryl will testify) the prize is well worth the effort!
Next year’s calendar is taking shape. The Committee is not in a position to publicise it yet, but as soon as we can, we will. Expect Cadwell (17th/18th June) and 3 ARDs (dates tbd), plus a plethora of other goodies! We are always looking to expand the portfolio, so if you have any good ideas, don’t be shy.
Keep an eye on the forum for events in the New Year. This should include an offroad event at Bagshot (DIO licence willing) in early Jan but keep an eye on the forum.
We look forward to seeing you at the Club Christmas Do at the Derby Inn, North Warnborough on Sat 24th Jan 2015. There’s a thread on the forum, so if you fancy coming along (with/without a guest), please post. A subsidy will be provided, along with live music, and Tony has pledged to dress up as Santa!
Finally, the Officer-in-Charge, Chairman and all Members of the Committee wish you a very happy Christmas and all the very best of luck for 2015. May all your gear changes be sweet and corners feel like they’re on rails!
